Unilateral,
These choices, by their nature
Are unjust. Power.

Thoughts on Wisdom
“We do not receive wisdom. We must discover it ourselves, after a journey through the wilderness which no one else can make for us, and which no one can spare us. For our wisdom is the point of view from which we come at last to regard the world.”
~Marcel Proust
Our role in life, as teachers, friends and parents is not to spare our youth this journey. Rather, grant them fearless hearts able to embrace the journey, trusting themselves to come through better. Also, accept that they will change, and that we will love that person equally.
Wisdom
I seek wisdom.
Crave it, perhaps.
This longing to understand.
Freed from repeating
The past’s miseries.
Slumber’s Unanswered Call
A strange night,
Again awake when I wish to be asleep.
Slumber ignores my humble call
Blindly ignoring both my needs and concerns.
This lack of weariness annoys.
This rationale mind knows,
Knows the exhaustion coming.
Tomorrow’s sunrise.
Dread stares into my eyes,
Unblinking.
Strange sunlight drifts downward
Forcing it’s way through clouds
Blurring, blunting the force
Yet the strength remains.
Burning, passionately,
Reddening that which it
Desires. Gentle appearance
Hiding so much destruction.
Digital Life
Bits singing softly,
Across rivers of copper.
Electrons delight.
Restless
Resisting sleep’s call,
Mind dislikes this body’s imperative.
I cannot abide any hints of the
Fringes of my limitations.
Whispering powerful yet silent
Words.
Vicarious Lives
Gracefully accepting
Dreams gifted from the heart
Yet meant for another.
These are customized,
Wearing someone else’s
No matter how well meant
Is ugly and
Uncomfortable.
Loneliness
Such a strange thing,
This loneliness within
Despair’s deep abyss
For it harbors many,
Many hearts.
Rocket Day
My son and I exploring rocketry, then me messing around with iMovie.
Possibly the first of many: both launches and dollars spent.
