Modern Communications: Blogging & Social Media
So much of my life has revolved around communications. Including elements of PR (press releases to event management), marketing, web copy, executive presentations, correspondence, public speaking, public policy and advocacy, and advertising.
My work has centered on writing, whether poetry, crafting web copy, newsletters (both digital and analog), online articles, writing has been the core of my being.
Additionally, I’ve studied design and desktop publishing, with a solid familiarity with Photoshop and InDesign. Heck, I was a power user of Quark…back in the day. I suppose it should go without saying that I am quite adept at Powerpoint, Word, Excel, as well as Publisher and Visio.
I’ve utilized many tools to get out messages, connect with fans, grow communities and engage with a wide array of stakeholders. Blogging, newsletters, press releases, and social media just to name a few. My basic philosophy is to build connections to the community. Everything else flows from that.
