A haiku from this evening’s walk

below the sunset

and the glorious red sky

soon the songbirds sleep

Moving through my neighborhood, a suburb of Seattle, as the sun does as it must. Gravity’s handiwork across this sky. Rain started to fall as I neared home.

Fun With Photoshop: Safeway & Albertsons

Several years ago now, grocery chain Albertson’s acquired one of their rivals, Safeway. (If you didn’t know this, here’s an article to bring you up to speed)

Reminiscing about that I had the idea to combine the two logos. Not very timely, but seemed kinda fun. Anyway, one of my goals is to do something with Adobe every day. So here’s today’s goofing around.

A Poetic Response To Klass

I discovered Tom Ashbrook this week (Spotify’s algorithms can do good work) and wanted to share this with you all.

A MS Word Student Tool

As someone who’s used Word for decades, I rarely find surprises. Yet, sometimes I do. Now, it’s important to note that I’m currently studying web application development at Edmonds College, I’m writing far more than I have in years. And it’s the first time in, god, I don’t know how long, I have written in an academic style. Blogging (both professionally and personally) and creating plenty of text-based content helped keep my writing chops solid. However, there are always new tools to explore.  Today I discovered “Read Aloud” under the “Review” tab.

A great editorial tool. Having my essay read out loud showed nicely several flow issues and a couple of grammatical glitches. Nothing that would’ve failed the paper, but I value quality and, well, those items don’t show quality. So, thanks Office Team, for another useful tool that I hadn’t hear of.

Today’s Word of the Day Haiku: Contact

Today’s “Word of the Day” challenge features “Contact”. I stared at the blank screen for few moments before I was able to start pulling this one together. One of yesterday’s photos came to mind. On my evening walk yesterday, I was watching the bees flit about these flowers. When this lady buzzed right into the flower in front of me, I was delighted to catch the moment.

Today’s Word Of The Day Challenge Haiku

Taking part in the Word of the Day challenge, where today’s word is “Opinion”. It seems fitting as spring flowers are starting to wane to talk about the falling blossoms.

A Haiku Response To The Word Of The Day Challenge: King

I’ve decided to take part in today’s “Word Of The Day Challenge“, and the word is “King“. I, being me, opt for a haiku.

Tonight’s Walk: A Haiku

I took this photo on my walk this evening. As it’s still spring with flowers blooming like mad, that’s been my current focus, photography-wise. The haiku just felt right.

I’m looking forward to branching out further afield as the corona virus restrictions abate. I’m looking forward to getting back to downtown Edmonds, I do miss it so.

What are youlooking forward to add life returns to some semblance of normal, or a new normal.
