Today’s Dad Joke

How do you fix a broken pizza? With tomato paste.
Crafted this one up on Canva, which lately is my go-to for quick graphic needs. Whether YouTube thumbnails, a quick poster (like this one), or to add text of a haiku to one of my images, Canva is solid. It is very powerful, with lots of templates, lots of fonts…you get the idea. Of course, it’s nowhere nearly as powerful as Photoshop, but most folks never need that kind of “umph”.
A Random Observation and the Dad Joke Of The Day, May 23, 2023
Dad joke of the day
If you know me well, you know I have an affinity for dad jokes. Puns, groaners, all the quintessential “dad jokes”. I find them funny and kind, not delighting in crudeness or cruelty.

So, I hope your Monday went well and that you have a marvelously productive week.

An Evening Haiku

A friend of mine asked me why I hadn’t written, or posted, any haiku lately. My answer is pretty lame. She said she missed them, so I offer up this one.
Geekiness
I think it’s a high level of geekiness to know the difference between Linus from Peanuts, Linus Pauling, and Linus Torvalds. But that’s just me, I guess.

Do search algorithms have a sense of humor?
Yesterday I set up a YouTube livestream and, as part of that, needed to whip out a thumbnail. Canva is my go-to tool of choice for such work. As this is for a preschool choir, I searched templates for “youtube children choir”, and THIS shows up in the results:

I found this…fascinating…and absolutely hysterical. Maybe the global AI is just trying to brighten my day.
