Rain in the Moonlight

rain atop the roof

calm, staccato memories

droplets of moonbeams

Haiku, May 30, 2020

a day filled with rain

I avoid the damp puddles

circles flow outwards

A day of rain and thunder, such an abnormally in Seattle. Well, not the rain; that’s still quite common. Yet today I opted to forgo my evening walk. Just wasn’t in the mood to be soaked, cold and shivering.

Thunder in the Morning : A Haiku

rolling with the rain

there’s thunder in Seattle

the crows now silent

I wasn’t expecting thunder and lightening this morning. That’s rather atypical for Seattle. It brings back many memories for me, though. Life in the tropics had many joys.

Raindrops on Petals

raindrops on petals
the bees now seeking shelter
spots on my glasses

A Dark, Rainy Night Haiku

the sound of the rain
rolling through the night’s darkness
bending the flowers

Today’s Word Of The Day Challenge Haiku

Taking part in the Word of the Day challenge, where today’s word is “Opinion”. It seems fitting as spring flowers are starting to wane to talk about the falling blossoms.

gentle rain passes
starlings sing their opinions
cherry blossoms fall

Haiku: May 6, 2020

though the rain has stopped
the ominous clouds stare down
birds oblivious

Tonight’s Haiku: May 3, 2020

WITHIN THIS COLD RAIN
DROPLETS DIVING OFF FLOWERS
THE CROW LAUGHS WITH ME

Tonight’s Haiku: April 26, 2020

as night has fallen

the cool rain starts falling

trees move in the breeze

A reasonably pleasant spring day, high clouds and lacking in rain. Perhaps a bit muggy as the air was still. As the sun set, the breeze picked up. Once night fell. The rain started. Now, this is Seattle. So, not a downpour, but the well known Seattle drip.

I remained indoors most of the day. Got out for a roughly one hour walk, then grabbed dinner at the nearby 5 Guys. And then back to quarantine.

How’s it going where you are?
