A Zen Meditation

Claiming my own mind
Seeking the truest power
Releasing all else

This is the deepest truth for students of Zen. Yet is hard to live this, at times, at least. Hence the need for constant practice and discipline. Mastering resisting our temptation to steal our future from ourselves.

  1. Are you sure it’s not just esoteric nonsense. When the earthquake struck in Mexico City many had the dreadful experience of living in the present moment. I expect they were very glad to return to the sanity of normal human existence.

    1. Excellent point, Kertsen. For me it’s critical to get out of my head, as the adage goes, and think about what’s important, what’s critical. Yet I can spend so much time there that I lose focus on the beautiful things in day to day life.

I guess, in the end, it’s balance.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! You made me think, and that’s critical.
