Autumn’s End Nears

Still upon the tree
A feast for the passing birds
Nearing autumn’s end

I found the apples on these neglected trees to be haunting, ghost like. Sustaining the birds as the weather turns cruel.

A Walk Along The River

Along the river
My feet move through the sunlight

A Rainy Night Haiku

Wind blows in darkness
Rain forces it’s way downward
Flowing over leaves

It’s a #rainy night in #Seattle.

A Christmas Tradition

A tradition renewed

Every year it is the same

And it’s different

A Sunday Seattle Morning

Just out my window
Watching this December rain
I finish my tea

I woke early this morning fighting a migraine. The daggers in my skull have been dulled, but the mental fog and inability to focus remain. The grey, rainy skies seem to fit perfectly with my state of being.

This Seattle Morn

Sunlight on the clouds

Silence dominates the air

The firs are aglow

In this night’s quiet
Siren’s call carries quite far
Winter’s night prayer

Sound carries far on the cold, late autumn night.

A Week’s Movement

A week; a moment

Blur of daylight into night

Flows into winter

In this world that values busyness, it’s hard to focus. Mindfulness consumed by the God of more, of efficiencies. It’s easy to lose sight of what’s important and end up losing far too much time focused on the wrong things. When our actions don’t build towards something greater, we lose so very much.

Tonight’s Haiku: The Movement Of Seasons

My dreams keep moving

In an arc around the sky

Autumn’s now winter
