Brunch in #Edmonds

A light mist outside

Delightfully warm within

My grandfather’s voice

My grandparents started coming to Edmonds’ Pancake Haus when it opened, and remained faithful customers til the end. My wife and I go somewhat regularly, enough that the staff recognize our son and ask about him. This connection brings me joy.

Do have any place with similar connections?

A Haiku From Today’s Walk

A haiku about self doubts

James Baldwin: Today’s Black History Month Poet

James Baldwin Quote

This Baldwin poem resonates with me. Love’s grace comes with great power, inspiring fears and conquering cowardice.

Haiku, February 10, 2020

gazing skyward

dawn’s light through the clouds

new beginnings

A Lunar Haiku

at this brief moment

the clouds dancing with the moon

as winter deepens

Such a lovely moon this evening.

An Edmonds Haiku

Edmonds ferry terminal at night

Along the water
Feeling the grace of motion
Rippling light waves
