I love the haiku

I love the haiku

Gentleness in the small size

Grace in simpleness

Perhaps you’d figured this out about me by now.

A Reflection on Alan Watts: A Haiku

Straightening out life
Violates its core nature
We must let it be

This haiku is my response to Alan Watts’ quote “you’re only making a mess by trying to put things straight. You’re trying to straighten out a wiggly world and no wonder you’re in trouble”. I find this very relevant in today’s climate.

A Garlic Question

A question of mine
How many cups of garlic
Becomes “too many”?

Ah, I adore garlic, and am not afraid. Fortunately, my wife shares my delight.

Each Day Step Forwards

Each day step forwards

Never, ever stop moving

That’s where success lays
Happy Friday, everyone! Go do something great! And, if you would be so kind, give this post a “like” and share. Thanks!

Fears Wisdom

We struggle with fear

But fear has its own wisdom

We must seek balance

A Wednesday Meditation

Now the week’s middle

So very much left to do

This steady constant

The Great Blue Heron

This gangly bird
Inelegant legs, bearing
Ghost upon the marsh

Yosemite

Majestic mountains
Magnificent light falling
Tranquility’s song

In The Face Of The Horrible

Face the horrible
The waves of sadness and pain
Find strength together

Seattle’s Rain Arrived

Raindrops tap windows

Gusts rattling the dried leaves

Autumnal cold rain

The predicted reasons have come. Trees bend in the breeze, leaves drift across my drive. Summer’s memory flutters within the dried, damp leaves.
