Haiku Response To Today’s FOWC

Here’s my contribution to the Fandango Word of the Day Challenge: Staunch.

Surprised By Sunlight

Afternoon Sunlight

surprised by sunlight
after so much morning rain
this lightness of being

Winter Berries

Elderberries

winter bares food, too
and the birds know where to seek
so life continues

Found these berries on a recent walk. Summer, of course, bursts with live giving foods for all. Winter, it seems, is more stealthy. But food is present!

Blessings of the Pines

Hint’s Of Spring

through the cold air
in the winter sunlight
hints of spring awake

Took the featured image while on my walk today in downtown Edmonds (WA).

Moonlight’s Grace

Moonlight

moonlight’s grace
dancing downwards through the firs
boughs move in the breeze

This photo was shot on my Samsung S9 last night. I am quite pleased with this. Amazing what we can do with our phones!

Ride: A Haiku

Ride: A Haiku

in cool winter’s rain
wheels turning as I ride
motion in silence

A Saturday Snowfall

Snowfall in Lynnwood

snow falling
memories: moments of cheer
delights of childhood

Snow isn’t quite a joyous a thing as an adult as I found it as a child. Yet the echoes remain.

This is my contribution to today’s Word of the Day challenge, with today’s word “cheery”. I took a little liberty with “cheery”. I hope it cheers you, at least.

A Snowy Day

overnight snow

dusting the grass

It snowed overnight in the Seattle area. Just enough to cover the grass but not bury it. Tis quite cold this morning.

A Morning Haiku

Some thoughts this winter’s morning. I hope you’re warm and safe.
