A Monday Morning Haiku

This new week starting
So very many options
Soon, the mountains glow

It’s Monday, go make something great

A Seattle Morning Haiku

Seattle’s grey skies
Though they filter the sunlight
Bring me peacefulness

Simplicity: The Beauty of Haiku

Life is so complex
The beauty within haiku
Ah! Simplicity!

A Good Night Haiku

This evening creeps past
My body is now weary
Listening to the wind

I’m fighting some beastly bug. Tis time to let sleep have a go at it.

Compassion

There is no such thing
As too much compassion
Sunlight calls to me

Tonight’s Haiku: Life’s Complexities

Life’s complexities
Tranquility’s opposite
Argued with moonlight

A Haiku In Honor Of Martin Luther King

Reflecting From Stone

Reflection

Staring at myself
Wetted marble captures me
As I seek balance

If you’ve been to Seattle’s Pacific Science Center, you’ve probably noticed the marble sphere balanced upon water. A perfect equilibrium which allows for an ease of motion; it can be shifted with one hand.

A Haiku As I Listen To Satie

Listening to Satie
These binary colored keys
Dancing summer light

I always envision Impressionistic artists as I listen to Satie. Just seems so perfect. Like Bach in cathedrals.
