Seeing the Birds of Spring

Compassion and grace
Linked together as they loop
Spring’s birds appearing

This Day Begins: A Haiku

Sunlight’s holding back
Eastern mountains soon will glow
As this day begins

Please See Your Beauty

Please see your beauty
Grace flowing fast from your soul
With the snow falling

Do you hear the Oran Mor?

A song in emptiness
So beautiful
Demanding a response
Tones bouncing
Stars flicker forth
Atoms, elements born
Motion, energy,
Life

LISTENING To Music

As youth I chose
To deeply explore music
Each word critical

Music is critical to me. For my teenage years, I focused my study there. Well, as best as I could focus at that age. Music means so very much to me. Understanding the way lyrics, melody and harmony intersect for the good of the story carried great value.

I seek to recapture that. Spent some time this morning enjoying it again. Until life’s demands intruded. Soon, I’ll return. These delights critical to my soul.

A Reflection Upon Rage

In the face of rage
We need to face each other
The birds sing for all

With so much rage, how do we grow and nurture, especially the “others”?

Grandmother

I’m nearby
This place she lived
LIVED!
So very long ago

In this early morn
With wind moving
Trees
Her voice whispers
Love songs to this
Child

Today’s Daily Prompt: Assay

For so great a mind
Those who understand “Assay
Others are tested

Defining “Vermin”

Why do we loathe such
These creatures that adapt well
To our wastefulness

Squirrels, rats, myriad insects, and so many other creatures that have adapted well to living in the shadow of humanity. These we loathe, finding beauty in those struggling to find a place in the world we’re rapidly changing.
