as I face the west
sunset’s grace on the mountains
the air turns colder

I took this photo on my walk this evening along Edmonds’ Marina Beach. Is one of my favorite places,  period. Some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen are looking out at the Olympic Mountains of Washington.

Oh,  and happy Pi Day, for those who celebrate.

Today’s Word of the Day Haiku: Contact

Today’s “Word of the Day” challenge features “Contact”. I stared at the blank screen for few moments before I was able to start pulling this one together. One of yesterday’s photos came to mind. On my evening walk yesterday, I was watching the bees flit about these flowers. When this lady buzzed right into the flower in front of me, I was delighted to catch the moment.

The Growth Mindset

Seeking out purpose
And positive energy
For I long to grow

I focus on a growth mindset. Always pushing back on fears and challenging my limiting believes. It’s not easy, but always worth it.

RIP Hugh Hefner

He made his millions
Pushing sexual boundaries
Challenged us deeply

Love him or hate him, his life made an impact.

Transformations

My child prepares
The next journey
Of schooling
A single step
This new world

Transformation

Intimidates some
Others feel promise
Some blend them
Strange balance

Monday Begins

Sunlight greets the day
Challenges need to be faced
So begins Monday

Thoughts on living, facing challenges

Either we live with fear, face it, embrace it, fighting a path through it, or we live free of challenge, lacking in growth and success.

I hate fear, the intensity disturbs me. This sensation, my psyche resisting boundaries, painfully discomforting. Such the Tao of growth, true growth.

More than iterating new skills, refining the old, but pushing boldly into the new, the unknown. This journey unpleasant, yet the destination glorious. This the lesson of every great story.
