Today’s Haiku, March 17 2024

the snows have faded
cherry blossoms take over
within sun drenched skies

I took this photo on my walk today.

An Evening Haiku

the evening sunlight
drifting behind western trees
cherry blossoms fall

A friend of mine asked me why I hadn’t written, or posted, any haiku lately. My answer is pretty lame. She said she missed them, so I offer up this one.

Spring In The Air

cooling breeze
under bright sunlight
cherry blossoms

Cherry Blossoms

Cherry Blossoms

cool air descending
the breeze moving gracefully
cherry blossoms dance

A sunny spring day

a day in sunlight
amidst the cherry blossoms
chatty Stellers Jays

Cherry Blossoms

ah, cherry blossoms!
all the beauty of springtime
encapsulated

I try to walk every day. During those walks, I seek out signs of the seasons, of change, of life’s patterns. Lately, I’ve searched for signs of spring. Crocuses, daffodils, lilies, and now cherry blossoms.

A Spring Haiku, April 29, 2020

the motion of spring
bold new life; cherry blossoms
slowly fall to earth

A Drippy #Seattle #Haiku: #NaPoWriMo2020

Another photo from my walks. This tree really impressed and delighted me, especially with the fading light.

Another damp day in quarantine here in Seattle. How’d you day go?

Tonight’s Haiku

the air this spring night
coolest touch upon my face
footsteps though silence

Tonight’s #Haiku From This Evening’s Walk

While walking this evening for exercise and mental clarity, I came across these blossoms.

sunsets through the trees
gently, the birdsong ending
a heron in flight
