Awoke by sirens
Deep in the pre-dawn darkness
I say a prayer
Facing Forward

Honey bees feasting
Sunlight flowing from the sky
Such summer delights

A blend of grayness
These shadows within the clouds
Such graceful herons

such a brilliant day
those I love accomplishing
sunlight reaches me
Today I watched dear friends test for their blackbelts, and followed that up with graduation parties. The beauty of growth delights me deeply.

Even though it’s rained
Summer’s breath still dominates
And sunlight has returned

Looking towards the sky
And summer’s not quite here yet
This graceful sunlight

Love this reddened sky
The darkness bringing cool air
Summer’s antidote
The morning’s progress
Resisting the snooze alarm
Listening to birds

Nights power rising
Warm air freed from the cloud’s grace
Wakefulness waning
