Staring Into The Abyss: Tonight’s Haiku

As I stare into
The abyss, eyes peering back
A gaze, which is mine

Returning To Normal

New Year's 2018

Now we transition
We’re returning to normal
Within this new year

Ready to get back to work? To shake things up and make a difference? If not, what do you need to do to change that?

Tonight’s #haiku explores the passing of time and seasons

Winter advances
Yet the solstice passed us by
Change is approaching

Alarm Clocks: A Haiku

Just ten minutes more

As the clock keeps beckoning

The demands of life

Roll The Clocks Back

I sometimes wonder

If we should roll our clocks back

Into sundials

Gregorian Chant: A Haiku

Ancient words now sung
Prayers chanted, incense rising
Candlelit stone walls

So many memories within cathedral walls. Chanted prayer always makes my heart soar. Gently, though, like a bird on the wing. Not garish as a jet.

Fears

A strange fear of mine
To vanish into time’s mists
Forgotten notebooks

Denying Hope

So much of life lost
Since we deny so much hope
Leaves starting to fall

The Day’s End

The day’s ending here
A busy and full day done
Now to calm my mind

This started before 6:00 am and stretched until I got home a little after 10:30. A reasonably productive day, which makes me happy. But, well, that’s really long. And I’m tired. So, good night my friends.
