Abandoning All We Are

Abandon all that we are
So we can become
All that we might be

I see myself trapped by my past, by the barriers erected from fear, insecurity and doubt. “Grow past them…” I counsel myself. “Push past them. They are but vapor, illusion, less real than the dreams. Dreams create! So I shall focus on them.

A Child’s Funeral

Nothing is sadder
Than a child’s funeral
Winter’s emptiness

It’s been several months since we buried my friend’s son. It was a wretched, painful day. I never want to feel that way again. Sadly, the odds are against me.

Smoke on this Evening Breeze

Hot summer’s evening
The scent of smoke alarming
Nothing to fear, right?

A Haiku About Self-Confidence

For many people
Confidence is so fragile
Damaging our hope
I hope your Wednesday brings you joy, and realization of your uniquely wonderful gifts.

The Nature Of Things

The flowers blooming
Comes abruptly, then it fades
The nature of things

Came across this rose while walking this afternoon. I hadn’t noticed it before, and the petals will be on the ground shortly.

Summer’s Sunlight

Summer’s flowers bloom
This season of bursting life
The sun’s energy

My Mission Statement

My mission in life

Make cool dreams reality

Defeat resistance
