Possibilities Abound: Today’s Haiku

a new day begins

possibilities abound

the pre-dawn silence

Haiku, January 8, 2020

barren branches move

wind, graceful power’s song

I still hear your voice

This morning’s #haiku: awaiting dawn

awaiting dawn

light’s grace upon the dark clouds

rain’s song to the trees

Dawn may come earlier, but it’s still dark before I leave for work, still dark on many drive home. This, at times, challenges many mood. I work to stay cognizant of my minds health.

Seeking Confidence: A Haiku

seeking confidence

channel Earnest Hemingway

a bad ass poet

Well, I believe this is better labelled “senryu”. The roots of my malaise? This feeling of inadequacy, that i should be doing something great, followed by debilitating, negative self talk. I thought a great poets who have a great bearing. Hemingway captures that confident bearing, which I seek to install within me perfectly.

    Tide Against Sand

    tide moves against sand

    with air dancing upon waves

    heron’s patient stealth

    The Solstice is Past

    with the solstice past
    daylight stays with us longer
    spring whispering now?

    Dreams Arise Again

    dreams arise again

    fears, one after another

    barren branches sing
