Never Enough

Fear motivates,
Drives us mad,
Greed, envy, despair:
And we know not how to resist.

Emptiness: A Meditation

image

Echoing within
A gnawing pit of emptiness,
Resisted, feeling.

Overcoming fear

Overcoming fear
Refusing paralysis
Drinking deep from life

Echoes of Anger

Fearful of ancient rage
Rattling dusty cadavers
Forgotten dreamsĀ
Hidden within
Away from the glare
Of expectation

Early morning wakefulness

Still, fears rise up
Providing discomfort
And misery; wakefulness
When I seek sleep.

Insecurities

Insecurities
Flickering across my mind
Sleep brutalized

Insecurity’s Fruit

Fears, insecurities,
Like rocks within
Sand; motion works
To grind all that’s
Good to dust.

Expectation’s Tyranny

Torture one’s psyche,
Contort our minds beyond
Recognition, seeking a path
Defined by fear’s engorged
Demands

Fearfully we start
Any new change bringing dread
Which we must resist

Fearlessness

Fearlessness,
So hard to embrace.
Fear serves us well.
Protection from malice.
Yet, this protective weave
Eventually stifles growth.

We prattle on
About not letting fear
Control our lives.
And yet, so often, it
Does. Aversion to risk
Really the highest calling?

I seek freedom from
Fears. From that strangulated
Grasp, embracing what may
Come,  trusting in both
My ability to hold the joy
And that good will come.
