Under the Starlight

under the starlight

a momentary pause

the city grinds on

Nights in the city have a magic to them, don’t they?

Space Dance: A Haiku

beyond the sky’s edge
light dances in the darkness
such graceful motion

The photo is from NASA’s Hubble telescope. I fell in love with all things space as a young boy watching the lunar landing. It seemed natural to pen this haiku as I looked upon this image.

A Summer’s Haiku

the bending of light
elegant dance of summer
longing for autumn

Summer Afternoon Haiku

Daisey on my walk, June 25, 2020

call of summer light

feeding of vigorous life

ready for fresh rains

#NaPoWriMo poem: April 8, 2020

amongst these tall trees

light now flowing from the east

songbirds still chatter

A #Sunday Night #Haiku

Standing in the sun

Light dances on my shoulder

Stop to see beauty

A #Haiku for your Sunday morning

I’m up before dawn

Light coming through my window

I just need some tea
I hope your Sunday recharges your soul, giving you energy and drive as we face a new week.

A Daylight Savings Time Haiku

Daylight Savings Time

An archaic exercise

I am not a fan

A Walk Along The River

Along the river
My feet move through the sunlight
Serenity speaks

This Seattle Morn

Sunlight on the clouds

Silence dominates the air

The firs are aglow
