This grey morning light

This grey morning light

Falls deftly through morning sky

Clouds from the ocean

The Passage of Heartbeats

Each moment passing

Fading into memory

Waiting on sunlight

This Friday morning: a haiku

And now dawn has come

Sleep kept this hidden from me

Until the birds called

A Monday Morning Haiku

This new day begins

Filled with opportunity

As the daylight grows

An Early Morning Haiku

Yes, I am awake

And the birds sing with vigor

Dawn has not yet come

I’m amazed at the number of birds singing right now. Well, I think one of the loudest sounds is an insect, but I digress.  It’s quite boisterous. Oddly, as daylight comes their sounds will quiet. Perhaps just supplanted by human noise. Perhaps.

Saturday Morning Mid-May

Light flows across my blinds

Bird dialog strikes my ears

My room’s emptiness

Speaks to my past

And my future

This morning’s haiku

The darkness waning

Hints of blue sky beckoning

This day, beginning

A Good Morning Haiku For You

Sunlight’s debuting
Early morning darkness fades
Sounds of spring arise

Watching the dawn inch forward inspired this haiku. I anthropomorphise the sun, imagining pride and delight as humanity stirs underneath the reborn warmth. Perhaps there’s even love for us as we reawaken our striving.

So, here’s to a new day, it’s blessed possibilities, and all the potential you bring.

The Dark Before Dawn

Still dark
No hints of dawn
Yet I know
It will come

I am awake in the early morning, pondering all that troubles me.

Another Monday

Starting a new week
The demands of life rise anew
A silent morning
