Early morning haiku

sleep’s evasive
the early morning darkness
hiding raindrops

Yeah, I should be asleep,

I’d prefer to be asleep

Yet that is not

My reality.

An evening haiku

streetlight’s reflection
ripples across the puddles
windchime’s gently tones

Tonight’s Haiku: February 22, 2025

within the darkness
listening to the rainfall
the night's progression

Tonight’s Haiku: February 11, 2025

in the bitter cold
the night moving with such grace
soon dawn approaches

Haiku: February 8, 2025

sunlight's gentle way
moving slowly over snow
clouds cover the sky

Another day with snow. This snow, though, has settled in. Nothing new during the day.

I created this in Canva, which is a lot of fun.

An evening haiku: August 22, 2024

grace consumes the night
within this silent darkness
healing commences

Haiku, February 7, 2024

selective focus photography of turned on black metal framed light sconce
as the sunlight fades
with the night's graceful blessings
the birds go silent

An evening haiku

Tonight’s haiku
as the night descends
sunlight drifts through the mountains
and dawn's grip loosens

Walking at night: a haiku

Tonight’s haiku
walking through the cold
feeling the grace of the night
soon the rains return

It was a good night for a walk. Brisk air was mitigated by my jacket. My main challenge: being near invisible to the passing cars. But most of my walk was far off the main roads. Thus, my key sensation was tranquility.
