Lights shining brightly

Outside it is dark
Tapping sound from my drain spout
Water flowing down
As I now lay here
The night’s silence calming me
My brain is active
Outside my window
Through the darkness of this night
Honeysuckle blooms
Now the night moves in
My body wanting to sleep
My mind resisting
This night now ending
Time to calm my random thoughts
And embrace my rest
In this deep darkness
As this day transformed to new
This eerie silence?
