A Good Night Haiku

A summer’s evening haiku

through the summer’s sun

life drips down upon the earth

bees sing merrily

Praying Mantis eating an Asian Giant Hornet’s face

With the rather overly dramatically named “Murder Hornet” now making it’s way to the Pacific Northwest, it’s important to note that in case you thought this critter was the most bad-ass insect out there, no, no it’s not. Here’s a reminder that there is always something badder coming down the road.

Bellingham Moments, December 7, 2019

grey skies fill my eyes

raindrops linger in my dream

coffee’s beauty reins

A Rainy Pacific Northwest Day

Standing in the rain
The city has not woken
With my feet moving

In Port Townsend

On Port Townsend’s streets
Walking on the waterfront
Coffee in the rain O

Homewards: tonight’s haiku

As we move homewards
Across the San Juan Islands
Summer’s Joy’s awake

Hiking Lopez Island’s Iceberg Point

Within this forest
Passing all this Spanish moss
A cool summer’s day

Lopez Island: A Haiku

Awake this morning

And this view over the bay

Resetting my soul

The Sky Over Lopez Island

In this summer’s sky
With this glorious calmness
I ponder deeply

I’ve been enjoying crafting these designs Canva. It’s a solidly fun tool.
