Winter

Cold wetness seeps in.
Clothing’s heaviness intense.
Seattle’s winter.

Being Human

Funny humans,
The only part of this
Universe that flails
And rages, expecting
Full control of this
Immensity.

Meditation on Greatness

One cannot achieve greatness
Adhering to the status quo.
Mediocrity, numbing the
Quiet desperation, drifting
Through life barely creates
Fertilizer for poppies.

Night’s Comforts

In the night’s darkness
Sometimes I find strange comfort
Peace through self knowledge.

Via Negativa

I try responding
  To negativity
     By facing this rage,
       Sadness, misery, and
     Acting against it with
  Compassion and love.
For water is what cools
Fire.

Ferguson

Violence doesn’t heal.
Tis a short term thing,
Self-inflicted grief
Building upon agony.

Simmering wreckage,
Quite close to home.
New destruction layered
Upon the old.

Gargantuan pachyderm
Calmly sits,
Ignored.

November’s Grace

Glancing upwards now,
A graying sky calming me.
Rain speckles my lens.

Weariness

Inspiration dry.
Exhaustion creeping throughout.
Gray skies crushing me.

Winter’s Breath

Air flows calmly down.
Teeth of winter’s brutal bite
Tranquil snows falling.
