Though the air has cooled
These flowers resist autumn
Sunlight’s grasp waning
I took this photo in Edmonds, a small town north of Seattle. I’ve lived most of my life in its orbit. My heart has a dear place for this place.

Though the air has cooled

I took this photo in Edmonds, a small town north of Seattle. I’ve lived most of my life in its orbit. My heart has a dear place for this place.

Walking this late morn
Past the flowers and produce
Summers end draws near

Yet another day
Where I’m walking on these streets
This suburban life

With water flowing
From the sky across the earth
Summer’s end is near

So much symmetry
Balancing shape and colors
Such summer glories

I’m walking at dusk
As the daylight is consumed
Ducks and geese collect

Under the sunlight
Farmers display their wares
Clouds splicing the sky
I love farmers markets. Two are nearby: Edmonds (Saturdays) and Everett (Sundays). If we miss one, we have the other. It’s a lovely setup.
