Rain falls in this town
The most regular event
And still we can’t drive
Facing Forward
Rain falls in this town
The most regular event
And still we can’t drive
We walked into the cafe
An older couple entered
Through my held door
Hand in hand
Talking to friends
Amidst the youth
And their frantic keystrokes
Lost to the now
Rain’s changing
Drippy drizzle
To wind blown torrent
And the light moving
Across the sky
Puddles forming upon
Untended tables
Morning rainfall
Multiple circles birthed
Moisture collected
As I’m sitting here,
Awake foolishly early
Rain gently strikes
The ground, roof, windows,
Flowing through fir
For me, a soothing sound
Reaching deep
To my forgotten recesses
Memories of the
Heart
Hear morning rain

Another day now
Laden with expectations
Misty rains linger
