A meditation on brokenness

Indomitable

In this winter’s cold

Life continues to burst forth

Indomitable

A Sunday Seattle Morning

Just out my window
Watching this December rain
I finish my tea

I woke early this morning fighting a migraine. The daggers in my skull have been dulled, but the mental fog and inability to focus remain. The grey, rainy skies seem to fit perfectly with my state of being.

This Seattle Morn

Sunlight on the clouds

Silence dominates the air

The firs are aglow

The Grace Of Sunlight

The grace of sunlight

Pushing through the autumn chill

Raising my spirits

These rare moments of sunlight piercing through Seattle’s autumnal gloom, granting me strength for those long, dark days coming.

This Rainy Evening

A haiku while walking in Everett

History in bricks

Such elegant stateliness

An autumn sunset

Thankfulness Journal: The Beauty Of My Home

So much beauty here

When sun shines, it’s glorious

I also love rain

Exploring Downtown Seattle

My home was once there
The outward shape is still there
And yet, it’s transformed

Walking these old streets
Visions of dirty concrete
Echoes of our past

Grime and poverty
Once marked these streets with their truth
Now airbrushed away

Walking with dear friends
Explorations of this past
Amongst my future

This Morning’s Rain: A Haiku

Early morning rain
Disrupting outdoor planning
Well, we’re flexible

Awoke to the steady patter of a Seattle rain. For me, there’s something very calming about it. I guess it’s part of Seattle being home. There must be moss in my soul.
