A Rainy Day Haiku

rain induced darkness

overhead clouds bring dampness

winter’s grip still hurts

Orion’s Belt, Tonight’s Haiku

where the rain clouds were

I now see Orion’s Belt

a cold winter’s walk

The clear sky this evening, a welcome reprieve from the recent gloom. Made for a lovely, if rather cold, evening walk.

How was your evening?

Winter in Seattle: A Haiku

longing for sunlight

amid the dampness and cold

childhood memories

My childhood had some glorious moments in the tropics, when I lived in the Philippines. Dark, dreary drippy days sometimes bring forth a longing for those days.

Sunday Night Haiku

The moon from just outside my house
Clouds moving with grace  This moon intensely watches   Song of the cold air

A windy Edmonds day

southern wind challenges

trees bending with the waves

seagulls’ airborne dance

Flowers through the Snow

With the snow fading

Moon hidden by trees

Life’s tenacity

Remnants of the Snow

Remnants of the snow

Outside this early morning

More of the grass seen

The past few weeks have had me dealing with a brutal cold, which progressed into a sinus infection So I didn’t get much in the way of photos during Seattle’s snow storm, and I love photos of the snow. But I got thisne, which is something.

A Snowy Day Haiku

over snow

street light dark

calming quiet

A Seattle Saturday Morning Haiku

ache of the cold wind
clouds moving with great speed
a seagull’s poem
