I delight in the night. Flickering streetlights are their own poems, no?
dawn’s quiet ascent
gracefully over mountains
autumn morning chill
though expecting rain
the daisies are unimpressed
within the cool air
On my walk I noticed these fellows resisting autumn’s influence. Though lots of rain predicted for today, it remained remarkably dry. These daisies seem rather pleased.

I discovered Balmorhea a few years ago but only came across “Masollan” recently (earlier this year). I’ve become very fond of it. The instrumentation is exquisite. Electric guitar and bass with drums, violin, cello, and upright bass? I find it delightful. The ethereal way the melody floats above the harmony vibrates within my soul.

I always appreciate Mr. Godin’s insights. Today’s blog post reminds me of something I’ve long thought about: understanding what you, and your business, offer the world. If you try to please all people, well, you aim for the middle and become a commodity. That only seems profitable by the large, mega-brands that can operate on huge scale. Most of us need to focus on the niche, on being unique. This requires creativity and insight. Those that master this space impress and inspire me.
