Welcome To September!

I love this song, and I delight in playing it in…September, which is one of my favorite months! The autumnalphile in me is ready for cooler temps and pumpkin spice. (Yeah, I know it’s still TECHNICALLY summer, but explain that to all the kids starting school today).

A Friday Haiku

as I look up
and notice new, red leaves
in the summer air

Fall leaves in August

So, I noticed the colors on leaves starting to change. Reds, mostly. Autumn’s hearld, I guess.

An evening haiku: Super Moon

I wrote this one a few nights ago, after getting this shot of the Super Moon on my phone. It delighted me so.

autumn moon
gracing the cool sky
blessed silence

Today’s haiku: November 14, 2024

Today’s haiku
evening rainfall
flowing from a day of rain
into a calm night

Twas a rain filled day. Shifting between downpours, mists, and even a few moments of dryness with dark clouds

Crafted this image on Canva. I thought this font was fun. (It’s called Tan Pearl if you’re curious.)

I hope this finds you well.

Autumnal Blooms

Autumnal Blooms

autumn progresses
rains arrive and the air cools
yet flowers resist

It surprises me, at times, the persistent resilience of flowers. Though fully in jacket and sweater season, flowers still reach to the cold sky.

A Monday morning haiku

Monday morning haiku

so the week begins
cool air, grey clouds, gentle mists
my tea calls to me

Tis a grey morning in Seattle. Autumn’s coolness fills my senses. Time to rise, drink some tea, then face the world.

An Early Autumn Haiku

A early autumn haiku

cool autumnal day
hints of rain drifting past me
remembering songs

A rainy day haiku

walking through the trees
on this damp and misty day
water bringing life
