A Flower From My Walk
walking through sunlight
these flowers watch my progress
and summer’s approach
It’s a few weeks yet until summer, though we’ve had days with a summer feel. A few more days of cool dampness, then summer-like weather starts again. Slowly, iteratively, we’ll approach summer. Spring petals will continue to fall.
After the Rain
between the rain squalls
I get to walk in the sun
flowers cheer me on
Bold before the rain
flowers in sunlight
with glorious abandon
bold before the rain

even though they fight
petals fall upon the ground
springtime fades to dust

I move through
weariness
