Boeing Deception Alleged in Scathing Report on Max Crashes

Boeing Deception Alleged in Scathing Report on Max Crashes

Article via Bloomberg

As a fan of all things Seattle and Boeing, this was painful to read. I’m hopeful that Boeing can fix this, but also recognize that it’s a monumental task of attempting to reboot a corporate culture against decades of history. Crises tend to provide solid energy to overcome social inertia. I hope Boeing is able to pull this off.

The Worst Things Ever Said To Grievers

Grief

I just read 64 of the Worst Things Ever Said to a Griever. Yeah, brings out awful memories. My personal worst: after my mom died, and evangelical type told me that if I’d prayed right, she would have been healed. I don’t remember my response, but I doubt it was pretty or polite. However, I expect I was so stunned that I remained silent. Most importantly, I remember this decades later. It deeply tainted my relationship with evangelical Christians.

Reading through the list, I see that most of these “worst” are very self-centered. Stepping out of your ego and seeking compassion are the best ways to be a decent human being.

Fortunately, these bloggers have created 64 of the Best Things Ever Said to a Griever. It’s not hard to be kind.

So, folks, simply be awesome to each other.

With Autumn Nearing

Another smoky, hazy day here in Seattle. The air quality is expected to be slightly better than yesterday. It should continue to get better as the week progresses. I look forward to breathable air.

Hurray! Poor Air Quality Is Coming!

I never thought I’d see poor air quality as a positive change. But, here we are. It is quite an improvement from yesterday.

It’s a hazy day in Seattle. And that haze is smoke, coming here from a variety of sources, mostly from Eastern Washington. Outdoor activities are pretty challenging right now with the horrible air quality.

And it’s looking to get worse over the next few days. Hurray! cough cough

Key to adapting to and managing this situation: knowledge. I offer two sites I’m using for key details.

  1. Accuweather’s Air Quality Index. It shows the current air quality issues and is updated throughout the day.
  2. The Washington Smoke Information Blog. Says something that we have a need for such a blog.

Lest I get too whiny about these conditions, I recognize that many other areas in the west are far worse.

Check out this shot from Portland (from Oregon Live).

Or this one from San Francisco. (Via the San Francisco Chronicle).

How are you coping? Any tools you’re using that I should know about? Let me know.

The bees keep working

And air choked with smoke moving

The bees keep working

The air in the greater Seattle has been filled with the smoke of many fires. Carried by the wind miles, a gift to be choked, I guess. The bees seem unperturbed.
