A Tuesday Morning Haiku

An Unconventional Life

My life’s been lived

At a right-angle

To reality

I’ve always valued originality over all else.

Facing Challenges

Life challenges us

When we rise up and fight back

That is when we grow

The cost of rage

Rage brings forth power

Everything comes with a cost

Not a path to peace

Roll The Clocks Back

I sometimes wonder

If we should roll our clocks back

Into sundials

And now it’s Thursday

This strange thing, Thursday

Near the end of the workweek

But without respite

Autumn’s Approaching

One more day of light
Soon, autumn’s fury descends
The callous winter

Me? A Poet?

Calling oneself a poet

So boldly hubristic

Arrogant and empty

Of dignified reserve

Freedom: Speech vs Lunch

Both lunches and speech
They are striving to be free
Each in its own way

I’ve thought about the intersection of these two conceptions of freedom for some time. Working on capturing the subtle distinctions between the two ideas.
