Walking In Edmonds: Tonight’s Haiku

moving through the cold

winter’s approaching quickly

still hints of summer

Anxiety: A Monday Morning Haiku

Anxiety

The cruelest noise

In silence

Memories

Down from my window

Thousands of lights, lives

Alone before sleep

Remembering nights alone in my apartment looking out over the city. Not an elegant view, but I y think Kerouac should’ve been comfortable.

Visions of Winter

These brightened hillsides
The darkness lightened by grace
Firs shrug off the weight

New light birthing

Embracing the firs

The birds still rest

A Haiku For A Brutal Day

The coolness of night
As I face life’s ugliness
Finally, calmness
