I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.

Standing by the shore
Summer’s glory is now here
Sunlight warms my soul

The bees grab my eye
After a few-hours’ hike
A summertime view

Watching the sun set
And the sky’s colors redden
This feeling of home

On this mountain trail
Bees feeding upon flowers
Mists clear from the peaks

Flavors of China
Dancing upon my palette
I can eat outdoors
Tonight’s haiku is about dim sum.

As I look upwards
These leaves’ beautiful pattern
A sign of illness

I’m facing westwards
And mountains cover the sun
A sweet summer night
This one was fun to make. It makes me quite happy.
My life: currently in transition. The current job comes to end in five weeks. So I actively seek my next opportunity. It’s there. I feel it. I’m excited about what the future holds. Yet, I don’t know where it is. Uncertainty presents challenges, certainly. I write more about that here.

Walking through this town
A reminder of our past
And union power

My feet move in rhythm
The sun hidden by the firs
Summer’s not here yet
