Tonight’s Haiku

Honey bee upon a flower

gentle honeybee
dancing upon the petals
moments of summer

Saw this flower with the honey bee on my way out to my car. One of the great joys of summer.

This evening’s haiku

A flower photo with a honey bee
with hints of summer
watching the vigor of bees
as the springtime fades

This photo was taken in my front yard. The bees were quite taken with these flowers. This was shot with my Samsung S22.

I’m quite pleased with the results I get with this phone. It’s been amazing.

It’s feeling like summer here, just north of Seattle. It’s wonderful. But I’m right at the point of shifting from complaining about the cold to complaining about the heat. The comfortable temperature range for Seattle’s is between 65 & 75.

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend! May it exceed your expectations.

Spring berries, a haiku

glorious red drops

sunlight after rain

Today’s Haiku, April 2. 2024

My rhododendron
a burst of sunlight
feeding the new spring flowers
a break in the rain

March 23, 2024

while the raindrops fall
this day of rest progresses
into the night’s grace

Rain filled this day, and my energy level was, well, absent. But I clearly needed rest. So,  I rested. A gift to myself,  I guess.

Tonight’s Haiku

crocuses arise
finding their way upwards
after the show melts

Today’s Haiku

the rain grows warmer
slowly the plants awaken
the season's motion

I saw this little blossom on my walk today. Right before the rains started. It’s was cold,  then damp. But I was equipped,  so it was pleasant. Not a bad way to surrender a Sunday afternoon.

Today’s Haiku

A haiku image with this text: dawn gently drifting
enlightening the mountains
through the eastern trees

I realize I’ve missed a few days. So much for my goal of posting daily.

Ok, let’s try to get back on-track.

I hope each of you has a lovely Sunday and are set up for a productive week.

Walking at night: a haiku

Tonight’s haiku
walking through the cold
feeling the grace of the night
soon the rains return

It was a good night for a walk. Brisk air was mitigated by my jacket. My main challenge: being near invisible to the passing cars. But most of my walk was far off the main roads. Thus, my key sensation was tranquility.
