Porchlight Haiku

The light has faded
I see my breath by porch light
The song of raindrops

A cool, drearily rainy end to the day. Chilled into discomfort, but not pain, only the mildest of inconveniences. But December approaches quickly, even though we still have trees with leaves on them.

Wednesday Morning

dawn moves through the clouds
hope ripples through the puddles
tea’s steam awakens

A Seattle autumn morning, rainy and cool. Strange senses of home.

A Friday Afternoon Sight

afternoon motion
underneath the hazy sky
magestic fungus

Saw this gem on my afternoon walk. I’m fond of toadstools.

A Night Haiku

I embrace the night

rain flows from forgotten roofs

safe inside my coat

Another experiment with Adobe Spark.

Some Positive Energy For Your Saturday

In this age of rage and horror, I offer a few counterpoints of kindness and beauty.

That video makes me think of this character from Princess Mononoke.

Monday Morning

as the sun rises

dawn’s light graces the hemlocks

Monday’s potential

Haiku, August 30, 2020

breathe in, fill my lungs

then exhaling, life’s motion

night freeing my soul

Just trying to focus my breathing, calling my mind and soul, seeking tranquility and rest.

Keep Breathing

Keep breathing deeply

Listen to the birds singing

Sunlight upon trees

Life’s tensions overwhelm at times. Remember to stop, focus on breathing deeply, controlled. Today, while doing this, the bird’s singing became vibrant. It’s what’s really important in life.
