As I look forwards
Inspired for the future
I’m embracing hope

I started writing haiku in my junior high creative writing class. After high school, though, when I started studying the Beat Poets, and Kerouac in particular, my fondness for this art form grew. I tend to focus mostly on the 5-7-5 style, but occasionally I explore further.

The day’s ending here
A busy and full day done
Now to calm my mind
This started before 6:00 am and stretched until I got home a little after 10:30. A reasonably productive day, which makes me happy. But, well, that’s really long. And I’m tired. So, good night my friends.

It’s not quite six yet
Which I still find “too early”
The boy’s in high school

If we all wage peace
Perhaps sanity will reign
Deny destruction

The smoke will soon clear
And autumn’s blessing will come
Scrubbing the air clean

A new beginning
Intersecting new with old
Moving forward now
A new work week starts. What will you accomplish?

The sun blocks the moon
Or is Sauron searching hard
For his ring again?
French aristocrats
Their talk of “let them eat cake”
Then losing their heads
This is just a bit of an experiment to see how Instagram’s embed feature works. Looks like it’s too good, actually. Oh well.
In this silent home
Dreams start creeping into view
Then they consume me
