Today’s Haiku: January 26, 2025

sunlight in the cold
bitter frost upon the grass
the grace of my coat

It’s been a cold couple of days here on the PNW. Looks like it’s been quite cold (brutal?) throughout a lot of the US. I’ve had the additional annoyance of fighting a nasty and belligerent cold. The remaining symptom: coughing. I’ve had to reschedule one dentist appointment, and that looks like it’ll become two. Sigh…

I hope 2025 has been kinder to you.

Tonight’s Haiku: January

winter moves forward
cold air underneath the clouds
this infectious gloom

Today’s Haiku: January 3, 2024

within winter's depths
and sunlight's power reduced
life resists the gloom

Today’s Haiku: December 17, 2024

this cold rain
amidst barren trees
a rose blooms

brushing against the full moon
storms pass at nightfall

An evening haiku: Super Moon

I wrote this one a few nights ago, after getting this shot of the Super Moon on my phone. It delighted me so.

autumn moon
gracing the cool sky
blessed silence

Today’s haiku
evening rainfall
flowing from a day of rain
into a calm night

Twas a rain filled day. Shifting between downpours, mists, and even a few moments of dryness with dark clouds

Crafted this image on Canva. I thought this font was fun. (It’s called Tan Pearl if you’re curious.)

I hope this finds you well.

Today’s haiku

waiting for dawn’s light

to come through the eastern firs

blending with the rain

It’s a rather drippy day here in greater Seattle, which I’m rather fond of. I find them tranquil and rejuvenating, especially with some coffee and a good book.

May your day feed your soul.
