Tonight’s Haiku: February 9, 2020

my house quiet

every one else sleeping

while the killdeer chant

A Lunar Haiku

at this brief moment

the clouds dancing with the moon

as winter deepens

Such a lovely moon this evening.

A Friday Morning Meditation

morning darkness

rainfall speaking to my soul

memories rattled loose

With most of my life spent around Seattle, rain hooks a special place in my heart. A sensation complex and layered relationship, true, from love, tranquility, sadness, and depression. Trek me shot your relationship to rain.

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:16px;”>rain gently tapping windows

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:16px;”>abandoned cobwebs

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:16px;”>Early morning, life starts to stir, Seattle’s rainy tendencies reach their fullest expression. Not the monsoons of my childhood, rather, regular, continuous drip. The weather presents challenges for many.

A Haiku For A Rainy Seattle Morning

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:16px;”>rain taps my window

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:16px;”>echoing through memories

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:16px;”>graveyard with damp grass

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:16px;”>I listen to the gentle patter of the rain, memories full my head. Sitting in my bay window watching the rain. Laying in my childhood bed. Sitting in cafes, drying from walking, coffee welcome warmth.

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:16px;”>Does rain’s sound trigger any memories for you?

Winter in Seattle: A Haiku

longing for sunlight

amid the dampness and cold

childhood memories

My childhood had some glorious moments in the tropics, when I lived in the Philippines. Dark, dreary drippy days sometimes bring forth a longing for those days.

An Edmonds Haiku

Edmonds ferry terminal at night

Along the water
Feeling the grace of motion
Rippling light waves

Sunday Night Haiku

The moon from just outside my house
Clouds moving with grace  This moon intensely watches   Song of the cold air

Today’s Haiku: Dawn in Bothell

Dawn in Bothell

Light across the sky
Beauty of Seattle’s sky
Patience of flowers
