An Edmonds Kind Of Haiku

along the water

the breeze carries the salty air

my grandfather’s voice

A Rainy Pacific Northwest Day

Standing in the rain
The city has not woken
With my feet moving

A Friday Night Haiku

Friends are beautiful
Easy as riding a bike
Graceful connection

I hopped into Canva looking for inspiration, and found this template. Bicycles delight me, and friends are wondrous. The haiku felt pretty natural with all those pieces coming together.

Autumn’s Approach: Tonight’s #Haiku

With summer’s end here
And the rain’s song calming me
I now seen brown leaves

The past few days have truly felt like autumn. Rainfall, in particular, reinforces that for me. I hold many cold and soggy memories, for that is the lot of Seattle folk.

A Walk In Lynnwood: Tonight’s Haiku

Walking in this park
Amidst these blooms of heather
Preparing for rain

Holding hands in the night: a #haiku

Hand held in the night

Comforting in the darkness

As autumn approaches

In the dark night, I feel rhe call of love, of sanctuary. But to receive and to reciprocate? That’s grace.

Friday Night, April 17, 2019

Trees bursting with blooms

Blossom petals slowly fall

Seasons still changing

A Windy Night Calms

Now in night’s darkness

The air has become silent

Peacefulness reclaimed

It’s now calm as the wrong storm has passed through Seattle. Hope all you Seattle area folks got through relatively unscathed. Sure seems a bit of a mess right now.

A Poet’s Response To “Houston Dad Handles Bully Beautifully”

This haiku came to me after reading “Houston Dad Handles Bully Beautifully“.

When facing evil

Focusing fully on grace

Always seek to grow

Grace can accomplish many great things, as it requires courage to step forward in such a way.
