On a zendo floor
Awoken by gentle chime
Tranquility hums
Inhuman Humanity
This is puzzling:
Why it is humanity
That’s most inhuman?
Dry Thunder
Thunder’s false calling
Empty promise of rainfall
Deception’s sad rage
Echoes of Anger
Fearful of ancient rage
Rattling dusty cadavers
Forgotten dreams
Hidden within
Away from the glare
Of expectation
