Word of the Day Challenge: River

My contribution to today’s Word of the Day Challenge: River.

this tranquil motion
combined destructive power
river’s dual nature

A river, though sometimes calm and tranquil, and sometimes raging through storms, always erodes it’s surroundings. No matter the gentleness of the moment, there’s inexorable change, micron by micron, creating canyons and corroding mountains. Water’s gentleness is deceptive.

Do not give into fear

Do not give in to fear

Each step of acquiesce

Feeds the beast

Growing it

Face it down!

Demand it sit

Then lay down

Into the dirt

Acknowledging

Your power

Beauty’s Truth

Remember the truth about beauty:

Beautiful actions have deep power

Silence Speaks Loudly

The loudest of words

<

<

p style=”font-family:’Helvetica Neue’, Arial, sans, sans-serif;”>Unspoken power

<

p style=”font-family:’Helvetica Neue’, Arial, sans, sans-serif;”>

The power of god

The only power;

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:21.6px;”>Surrender into God’s eyes

<

p style=”font-family:"font-size:21.6px;”>Breathe the breath of life

Forbidden

What is forbidden
Is not always wrong, rather
Damages power

Real Power

I have power beyond belief
To make myself vanish
Into the summer’s breeze
Raising butterflies into the sky

Terror to Power

Letters assembled
Upon page or bright screen
Terror to power

World Poetry Day

As today is World Poetry Day, I offer up this contribution:

Shall we celebrate power?
Speaking conscience to the brutal.
When nothing else can resist.
Words sharper than swords?

Or those words capturing love?
That exquisite, maddening
Sensation. Delightful, painful,
No greater sorrow, or pleasure.

Poetry, indefinable, glorious
Mystery. Savor this moment
For soon we shall recommence
Our most divine torment.
