A Week’s Movement

A week; a moment

Blur of daylight into night

Flows into winter

In this world that values busyness, it’s hard to focus. Mindfulness consumed by the God of more, of efficiencies. It’s easy to lose sight of what’s important and end up losing far too much time focused on the wrong things. When our actions don’t build towards something greater, we lose so very much.

Tonight’s Haiku: The Movement Of Seasons

My dreams keep moving

In an arc around the sky

Autumn’s now winter

Moments of Clarity: This Evening’s Haiku

While I look skyward

Moments of clarity shine

This cold autumn sky

A positive haiku for your Tuesday

A new day begins

Full of opportunity

Don’t let your fears win

It’s always time

A Monday fear

Nervousness wakes me

A meeting with high pressure

I’m lacking self-trust

Resisting the night

Darkness holds its own

Rest is deceptively hard

My Pre-Dawn Mind: A Morning Haiku

Sitting here, pre-dawn

My mind frantic with work stuff

The night is quiet

I’m awake, my mind reeling with ideas. Sadly, but restful, peaceful ones. Rather, things I need to change, ideas i need to incorporate. In the morning calm, my brain is editing my work. But they most desirable thing, I guess. It doesn’t facilitate and being of being well rested. The

My response? Open up my tablet and capture these notions, then set an Afghan to remind me to look at them once in at work. It calms my mind.

Always seek to grow

Always seeking growth

And to manage all my fears

Become what I want

It’s frightening, at times, to always seek growth. It requires constant reminders to watch for fear, the temptation to be comfortable. As a writer and artist, I see how critical it is to push boundaries. Mine as well as others. Perhaps mine are the most important boundaries to smash through. Destroying that which holds me back, which robs me of joy.
