I see the world very much like “The Reluctant Xtian” does. I, too, have buried many people. Have my son who I adore. My wife, my parents, dear friends….I, too, want the communication of “I love you” to be the last thing I say, or hear. So, give this a read. It’s an important call to action, call to life.
My wife picked up my phone and saw the latest text exchange with one of my best friends and colleagues, now in New Mexico. As the sign off I said, “Love you.” “Love you, too,” he texted back. She started making kissy faces and saying, “Aww…so sweet. You and your boyfriend.” We laughed, and she […]

I find this oft-repeated desire to collect one’s fecal matter in one place, presented as a positive, most puzzling.
Just a random thought which marched through my brain today.
My, I’m feeling the love of the digital world! It’s interesting to think about what’s bringing folks to my profile.
What do you think?

This video makes me smile. Great positive energy!
May your 2019 be filled with brave movements that make you proud. I wanna see you be brave, too.
Got this email from Amazon a few minutes ago. Methinks it’s missing a few tiny bits of information.

FYI, clicking on the Amazon logo does nothing. No link, no information about which order this might be…nada.
So, I guess I get to delete this message and move on the next one. Only 101 to go!
This is far too perfect. This infographic sums up my phone’s activity pretty darn well.

I’m surrounded by dissention, anger and invective. It makes me want to scream.
There are so many critical discussions, history making decisions that we need to make as a society and as a species.
Why do we seek out, aggressively, so many petty things with which to bicker and squabble over? I watch, time and time again, people waste monumental energy over the minor and leave the critical ignored.
Perhaps it’s easier, and less frightening, to engage with the petty than with the important. It’s also useless.
While talking with a doctor acquaintance about a building he was developing, surveyors came up. When the full block was developed, a sewer easement was granted across one part of the property. During actual construction, the easement was marked incorrectly and the utilities were installed outside of the granted easement. Fortunately for all involved, since the city and the developer wanted to move them to another side of the building where they had full access (no easement required) it turned into a non-issue. It has the potential of becoming a legal horror fest.
It might be easy to minimize the work of surveyors, and their work, when done well can become invisible to the average person. However, for me, quality survey work is beautiful. It can make my job monumentally easier. More importantly, sloppy survey work can creatr kinds of time consuming problems.
So my hats to good surveyors!
