“Broken Dreams” by andziadesign
Every so often, I like to challenge myself with my poetry. Today I logged into Bing Images, grabbed the first one, and crafted the haiku below.
A heart bursting forth
Anguish is encompassing
This near winter night

I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.

Every so often, I like to challenge myself with my poetry. Today I logged into Bing Images, grabbed the first one, and crafted the haiku below.
A heart bursting forth
Anguish is encompassing
This near winter night

Love this autumn day
Which has crested into night
Now rest, finally

p style=”font-family:"”>Seems appropriate, the month of Thanksgiving, to focus on gratitude. Today’s haiku sets the stage, reminding us of the value of gratitude, of connection, of interdependence.
This haiku came to me after reading “Houston Dad Handles Bully Beautifully“.
When facing evil
Focusing fully on grace
Always seek to grow
Grace can accomplish many great things, as it requires courage to step forward in such a way.
We love to quarrel
Satisfied with petty spite
Yet the sun will rise

With deepest rigor
I am always seeking growth
Autumn leaves still fall
